Bissell has released a new Bissell upright carpet cleaner that weighs under 18 lbs (without water) and uses a two-tank clean & dirty water system! It’s stylish on the outside and feedback from users have been outstanding.
Update Nov 4, 2017 – After two years in the market, the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution carpet cleaner has garnered a lot of great customers feedback and reviews. Customers like how easily it functions and how well it gets the dreary job of carpet cleaning done efficiently and effectively.
Brief Review
The engineering is thoughtful and incorporates new features that rival Hoover’s best-selling Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150, while leveraging on Bissell’s tried and tested technologies. The result is a carpet cleaner that is both convenient to use and effective for both pet owners and regular home users. The “pet” label reflects the facts that this is a serious deep cleaner and comes bundled with a pet stain tool. There is no pet hair basket like the Bissell Premier Pet 17N4.
One innovative feature is the inclusion of two cleaning modes: deep clean mode and express clean. As the labels imply, express mode is meant for quick clean-up jobs, perhaps for maintenance purposes in between deep cleanings or to freshen up the carpets before visitors arrive. The deep clean is meant for more thorough deep cleaning that is done periodically. The machine itself is lightweight and easy to use. It’s less intimidating to bring this out for more frequent “express cleans” than pushing around a more traditional 24 lb+ Bissell upright cleaner.
Compared to larger rental units, the Bissell 1548 (also Bissell 1551, 1548T) is more handy to use and easier to maneuver around. The fact that it’s affordable as a stay-at-home unit allows for carpets to be quickly refreshed on a whim or for stains to be removed before they get a chance to set-in. Bissell is boldly advertising that this model “outcleans the leading rental machine.” A few users seem to agree.

Final Thoughts
All in all, a thoughtful effort from Bissell. “Revolution” is a good name for it, because the design and features are quite a departure from Bissell’s usual upright cleaners. It makes handling a Bissell carpet cleaner and getting practical results less intimidating than ever. Initial sales data indicate that this model is starting to be more popular than Bissell’s other best-seller, the Bissell Premier Pet 17N4.
