Superior Cleaning Performance – For Pet and Non-Pet Owners

Most customers, both pet and non-pet owners, report outstanding cleaning results when using the Hoover Power Scrub Elite Pet Carpet Cleaner FH50251. One machine owner described how he was able to remove old stains that were left behind by the previous apartment resident. This was after the carpeting has been professionally steamed cleaned.

Another customer bought this after being disappointed with the cleaning done with a rented Rug Doctor. He was thrilled to be able to get better cleaning results with his new Hoover Power Scrub Elite.

Others said they were impressed by its suction power – a feature that results in getting more dirty water out of the carpets. Many describe how they were able to remove bad stains such as pet urine, coffee, foot traffic and more. A number of Power Scrub Elite owners describe the cleaning results they got as professional in quality.

Based on customer feedback, the Hoover Power Scrub Elite offers excellent cleaning results. The best results are obtained through the deep-clean mode and by having the right approach. For example, the Power Scrub Elite needs to be pulled/pushed slowly to give the brushes time to do their job of scrubbing into the carpets and then suctioning out the dirt. Other contributing factors are the type of cleaning solutions used (Hoover recommends using their branded ones), pre-treatment, and in some cases, the level of effort applied.

Pet Model

This model is labeled as a pet carpet cleaner as it has features that allow it to clean out the toughest stains and nasty pet accidents, such as SpinScrub brushes, Dual V suction, antimicrobial brushes and a spot cleaning rubber nubs brush-head. It is suitable for pet owners and for non-pet owners who need to clean really dirty carpets. See Pet Carpet Cleaner Machines guide.

Amongst pet owners, a lady with two dogs at home was really pleased that she was able to use her cleaner machine to remove urine odors. Another lady with both cats and dogs at home was able to clean out some really bad filth from her carpeting. She was also able to clean dog shit stains off a standalone rug. She was glad to save lot of money compared to having it professionally cleaned.

Another pet owner with a dog and a cat used to rent the Rug Doctor a few times a year to clean her carpets. She switched to buying her own cleaner, choosing the Hoover Power Scrub Elite. She likes how well this machine cleans and the how machine ownership allows her to clean more frequently.

Maximizes the Utility Of Having a Home Carpet Cleaner

The choice of two cleaning modes, Deep Clean and Quick Clean, makes it easy to keep your home carpets clean and maintain its cleanliness over time. This maximizes the advantage of having a carpet cleaner at home. Not only does it save you the trouble of running to the grocery store and lugging home a heavy appliance, you also have the flexibility to clean your carpets as often as you like. With Quick Clean, there is no need to spend a lot long time each time you want to do a cleaning.

You are free to do periodic deep cleanings, supplemented by as many quick cleans in between as you desire. The Quick Clean feature makes it really easy and convenient to keep the carpets clean and freshen them, thus allowing you to live in a cleaner environment.

Bigger Water Tank Capacity Offers Greater Convenience

With a 1.25 gallon tank size, you do not have to refill the tank all the time because of the 25% larger-sized capacity tank installed in the machine. It allows you to clean a bigger area without worrying about the remaining water in the tank. The more water you have, the more area you can clean. In addition, the dual tank system for clean and dirty water offers easier handling.

Compared to other carpet cleaners, the Hoover Power Scrub Elite Pet Carpet Cleaner is priced to sell. It offers tremendous value for one low price.

Use of Hoover Branded Solutions

One important factor that affect cleaning results is the type of cleaning solutions used. Hoover recommends using their branded solution to “prevent potential harm to your carpet cleaner and keep your warranty.” Fortunately, most of their solutions do get overwhelmingly good feedback in terms of performance.

If you are going to spend money on cleaning detergent anyway, Hoover branded treatments and solutions are something to consider. They are reasonably priced and have proven to work for a lot of people. For best results, Hoover recommends using both Hoover spot treatment and cleaning solutions. Popular ones include Hoover 2X PetPlus Pet Stain & Odor Remover, AH30325NF and Hoover Carpet Cleaner Detergent Solution, Expert Pet Formula AH15075.

Some customers complain that their Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251 leaks. While it doesn’t seem to be a major deal-breaker, it does cause some annoyance. One customer pointed out that the plastic tanks did not seem to be welded well. That could potentially cause water leakage.

It is generally acknowledged that consumer-grade carpet cleaners like this one works well, but they lack the higher quality standards of a commercial machine. If manufacturing quality is a point of concern, you may want to compare this with the the commercial-grade Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine 86T3. Another choice is the Rug Doctor Deep Cleaner, a more expensive consumer-grade model that has impressed many customers with its manufacturing quality.

Compared to the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer FH50150

Hoover Power Scrub Upright Carpet Cleaner

Hoover Power Scrub Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251 carpet cleaner is the updated and enhanced version of the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150. They are similar in design and build quality. The Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150 was launched in 2012 and eventually became Hoover’s best-selling all-in-one home carpet cleaner. With the Power Scrub Elite, it appears that Hoover is taking steps to update the Power Scrub design and make it even better and more appealing. Both the updated and original Power Scrub models are suitable for both pet owners and non-pet owners.

With the Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251, Hoover has built more useful features into the new machine to make it easier to use, and to address tough stains and pet messes. Here is a list of the new features that comes packaged with the Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251:

The Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251 does not include the powered Spinscrub brushhead handtool that is packaged with the Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150 product. However, if needed, it can be purchased separately.

Which one should you buy? The newer model, Power Scrub Elite FH50251, includes more features that make the experience of carpet cleaning more convenient. If both cleaners are being sold at around same price, the Hoover Power Scrub Elite FH50251 makes a more sensible choice in our opinion.

The Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150 may not have any many convenience features as the Power Scrub Elite FH50251, but it is easy to use and cleans just as well. It’s a great all-in-one cleaner for most people. It’s a worthwhile purchase when you can get it at a really good discount (check current price).
