Hoover Dual Power, Power Pro, Power Max Comparison

Hoover has recently introduced a new line of Dual Power carpet cleaners: Dual Power (basic lightweight), Dual Power Max (full-powered, wide cleaning path) and Dual Power Pro (full-powered, advanced model). These three upright consumer-grade models are suitable for cleaning homes and apartments, large or small. They are designed to be lightweight, easy-to-use, and consumers can choose which one to own based on their cleaning needs. You can find out about the different models in the video here, and we’ve included extra notes underneath.

Of the three, this model has gotten the best reviews. It also does not have the same level of complaints regarding the malfunctioning of the belt part.

This model is very much like the Hoover Power Path Pro Advanced FH51102, except for a few differences. The Hoover Dual Power Pro has a wider 15 inch cleaning nozzle path (vs. 13 inches for the Power Path Pro Advanced) and a Clean Boost control for extra cleaning power. However, it cannot be used to clean hard floors. The Hoover Power Path Pro Advanced has been enabled to do hard floor cleaning, and the package even includes the attachment for it.

Compared To The Hoover SteamVac & Hoover Power Scrub

The main difference between the Dual Power series and the more classic Hoover carpet cleaning machines we’ve been used to like the Hoover SteamVac and the Hoover Power Scrub is that they feature rotating brush rolls rather than SpinScrub brushes. A secondary difference is that they have wider cleaning nozzles.

Some users like rotating brush rolls as they feel it will help to groom the carpets. The top-end model, the Hoover Dual Power Pro, features the new Hoover DualTECH technology that incorporates both a rotating brush roll and SpinScrub brushes.

So far, the user reviews indicate that the Hoover Dual Power FH51200 is the best one. Reviews for the other two, the Dual Power and Dual Power Max are good, but there are more complaints mixed in. They relate mostly to the belts malfunctioning.

If you like the idea of having a rotating brushroll for scrubbing carpets, these machines are worth considering. Check out the listings and reviews at Walmart online (see banners above).
